To be included in the main galleries mean that we have
traced the painting or have documentary evidence of it's existence. The bulk of
Birley's work is luckily on display in Museums, Galleries and Stately Homes and
as a consequence we are able to direct the visitor to those sites via hyperlinks

The section on lost paintings covers works we
understand Birley to have conducted but have no evidence of their current
existence or location. If anyone has any information with regard to the
